- What is the investment requirement?
For a single franchise, the investment will require available capital of $38,398 to $69,996 which includes the initial franchise fee of $24,500. If you are approved to own multiple territories the required capital will begin at $50,000 to $80,000 or more, depending on the number of territories.
- What are you seeking in a franchisee?
We are looking for people with a successful track record in business, especially building sales and providing excellent customer service. In particular, we are seeking potential multi-unit franchisees, who over the years can build their Doo Care business into a market leader in multiple territories. To qualify, a franchise owner must have the minimum capital (mentioned above), excellent references, and a track record of success in their professional background. While pet or animal service experience is helpful, it is not essential. However, it always helps to be a dog lover!
- Do I get a protected territory?
Yes, you will get a protected territory of approximately 100,000 households. This will be defined in your franchise agreement by zip code(s).
- What is your initial franchise fee?
The initial franchise fee for a single Doo Care territory is $24,500. If you are approved to own multiple territories, you will receive a discount of 40% off the initial franchise fee of the second territory and 50% off the third or subsequent territories, if purchased all at once. Alternatively, we also provide the flexibility for you to purchase a 2-year option on a future territory for $2,500 per territory.
- What are the ongoing royalties and other fees?
Royalties are 6% of gross sales. We currently have no advertising fees. You will pay a small fee to help cover our sales call center costs, which will depend the scope of your operation.
- What is the term of the Doo Care Franchise Agreement?
Our franchise agreement has a 10-year term, with up to 2 additional 10-year renewal terms.
- What are your advertising requirements?
On an ongoing basis, you will be expected to spend at least 6% of your annual gross sales on marketing and advertising activities in your local market. With future growth of our network, and once a national ad campaign makes sense, Doo Care may choose implement a mandatory Ad Fund, but for now, our focus is on spending marketing resources at the local level.
- What training, start-up support and ongoing assistance will I receive?
You will begin with a comprehensive 5-day New Franchisee Training course, which includes both classroom training and "live training" in an existing Doo Care Operation. After your initial training, the Doo Care franchise support team will provide onsite assistance during the week of the grand opening to assist you in the development of your grassroots marketing program and to fine-tune your operations. We will also periodically schedule periodic visits and training opportunities to assist you in improving key areas of your Doo Care business. Additionally, your confidential Operations Manual and Extranet contains specifications, standards, operating procedures and tools to assist you in your ongoing operations as a Doo Care business.
